Privacy Policy

Content you capture. When you record with ND GO, we collect the video clips you choose to submit, along with device motion (IMU) data used to score clip quality.

What we never collect. ND GO does not collect your location — the app declares no location permission, so your device is never even asked, and our servers discard any location field sent to them. It does not record audio: clips are video-only and the app declares no microphone permission. Clips in which a person is detected are rejected on your device before upload, so they are never sent to us.

Account information. If you create a Node Data account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication details. Payment and payout information is processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card or bank details.

Usage and device data. We collect standard technical data such as device model, operating system, app version, and interactions with the Services to operate and improve them.

We use the information to provide and operate the Services; to run on-device and server-side quality control on submitted clips; to list qualifying clips as training data on the marketplace; to process payments and creator payouts; to communicate with you; and to maintain the security and integrity of the Services.

Clips that pass quality control and that you submit for listing may be made available to buyers on the Node Data marketplace as physical-AI training data, together with the motion (IMU) and quality metadata attached to that clip. No location data is attached, because none is collected. Do not capture private spaces or sensitive information you are not authorized to record or share. ND GO runs a face detector on your device while you film: the shutter is disabled while a face is in frame, and any clip a face appears in is discarded on the device before it can be reviewed or uploaded. Hands are expected — a clip of a task is a clip of hands doing it — but faces are never recorded. You are responsible for having the rights to any content you submit.

ND GO requests two permissions: camera, to detect objects and record clips, and motion, to measure how steadily the camera was held. It requests no microphone permission and no location permission at all — those permissions are not declared in the app, so your device will never prompt for them and the app cannot access them. Object detection and recording run on your device. You control permissions in your device settings and can revoke them at any time; the app works without an account until you choose to submit a clip.

If you installed ND GO version 1.1.0 or earlier, that build did request microphone permission and recorded audio alongside video. Update to 1.1.1 or later for the video-only behaviour described here.

We share limited data with providers who help us operate the Services, including cloud hosting and infrastructure providers and Stripe for payments and payouts. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.

We do not retain personal information indefinitely. We keep each category only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and then delete it. This is our written retention policy and it applies to everyone, including supervised child accounts:

• Clips that fail quality control. Purpose: to score the clip and tell you why it failed. Deleted within 30 days of submission.
• Clips from a child account awaiting a parent's decision. Purpose: to let the parent review before anything is published or paid. Deleted within 30 days if the parent has not approved them. A clip the parent denies is deleted straight away, not held for the window.
• Accepted clips not yet licensed. Purpose: to offer as training data to the company that asked for them. Deleted within 18 months if never licensed, or on request.
• Clips where a parent has withdrawn permission. Purpose: none — permission to store the clip no longer exists. Deleted at the next daily run after the permission is withdrawn. A clip already delivered to a buyer cannot be recalled from them; withdrawing permission stops any further delivery but does not undo one that already happened.
• Clips licensed to a buyer. Purpose: to deliver and support the dataset the buyer licensed. Kept for the term of that licence and for 7 years afterwards for tax and contractual records. Note carefully: a buyer who has already downloaded a clip keeps their copy, and deleting your data cannot recall it from them.
• Motion (IMU) and quality reports. Purpose: quality scoring. Deleted together with the clip they describe.
• Account information. Purpose: to operate your account. Kept while the account is open, then deleted within 30 days of closure. Records of completed payments are kept for 7 years, as tax law requires.
• Security and access logs. Purpose: fraud prevention and security. Deleted within 1 year.

Deletion of the categories marked as automatic above is carried out by a job that runs every day — it is not something we do only when asked. A parent can also delete everything belonging to their child immediately, at any time, from the Family page.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data, and you may withdraw clips that have not yet been licensed, by contacting privacy@nodedata.ai. A parent supervising a child account can do all of this themselves at any time from the Family page — see below.

Under 13. We do not permit accounts for children under 13 and do not knowingly collect their personal information. Nobody under 18 can register directly, and a parent creating a child account must enter a date of birth; we refuse any date under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email privacy@nodedata.ai and we will delete it.

Ages 13–17.A child aged 13–17 may use ND GO only through a supervised child account that a parent creates and links to their own verified account. To verify, the parent confirms their identity (including a government identifier) and adds a bank account through our payment provider; those details go directly to the provider and are never stored by us.

A supervised child account cannot record or upload anything until it is linked to a verified parent. The child can only work on tasks Node Data has reviewed as suitable for children andthat their own parent has assigned to them. Every clip waits for the parent’s approval before it is published or paid. Any reward is credited to the parent’s account, never to the child, and the child is never shown a cash balance.

Three separate permissions. Verifying a parent’s identity confirms we are dealing with an adult. It is not, by itself, permission to do anything with a child’s data. A parent gives three separate permissions, per child, and can withdraw any of them at any time from the Family page:

• Recording. That the child may record and that we may store the clips. Without this the child cannot capture anything at all.
• Sharing. That a clip the parent has approved may be delivered to the company whose task it was recorded for.
• AI training. That the company receiving the clip may use it to train and develop physical-AI and robotics models.

Sharing and AI training are asked separately from recording, and separately from each other, because they are different decisions. A clip is only ever delivered to a company when both of those permissions are in force at the moment of delivery — withdrawing either one stops delivery of every clip that has not already been handed over. We keep a dated record of each permission given or withdrawn, and a parent can read that record on the Family page.

Parental rights.From the Family page a parent can review everything we hold about their child, download it as a file, and permanently delete the child’s account together with every clip and stored video. Deletion is immediate; the only exception is a clip already licensed to a buyer, whose copy we cannot recall.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
